What SimplyCost counts
Every cost, counted for you
Your orders come in from Shopify by themselves. Set up your costs once, and SimplyCost counts them for you as your sales come in.
-
Product costs
Uses the Cost per item from your Shopify products, or upload costs from a spreadsheet. Each order keeps the cost from the day it sold, and you can correct past orders.
-
Shipping costs
Set what shipping costs you by zone, weight, quantity or order value, and SimplyCost works out the cost of every order.
-
Handling costs
Add what it costs to pack an order: a flat amount per order, plus an amount for each item if you like.
-
Payment fees
Set the processing fee for each payment gateway, and Shopify's transaction fees are counted too.
-
Ad spend
Connect Google, Meta, Microsoft, Pinterest, Snapchat and TikTok ads. The spend comes in by itself, in your store's currency.
-
Expenses
Add one-off and recurring expenses, such as rent, software and staff, and sort them into categories for your profit and loss statement.
Reports
Profit by product, order, channel and more
See profit by day or month, by order, sales channel or POS location, and by product, variant SKU, vendor or product type. Online ads, expenses and current inventory have their own reports, and every report exports to CSV.
Profit and loss
A P&L you can hand to your accountant
Income, cost of sales, operating expenses and net profit for any month, quarter or year. Compare it with a past period, or print it.
Ad spend
Your ads, counted against your profit
Connect your ad accounts once, and SimplyCost brings in the spend for you. If an ad account uses another currency, the spend is converted at daily exchange rates.

Questions
How does SimplyCost work out profit?
It starts with your net sales and the shipping your customers paid. Then it takes off what you paid for the products sold, your shipping and handling costs, payment fees, ad spend and your own expenses. What is left is your profit.
Where do my product costs come from?
From the Cost per item on your products in Shopify. You can also enter costs in SimplyCost, or upload them all at once from a spreadsheet. Each order keeps the cost from the day it sold, and if a cost was missing or wrong you can update past orders.
Will I see my past orders?
Yes. When you install SimplyCost it brings in your whole order history from Shopify, so you can see profit for past months as well as new orders.
Does it work inside my Shopify admin?
Yes. SimplyCost opens inside your Shopify admin, like Shopify's own pages, so there is no separate login.
Which ad platforms can I connect?
Google Ads, Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft Ads, Pinterest Ads, Snapchat Ads and TikTok Ads.
Which plan do I need?
Starter covers up to 600 orders a month, and Pro has no order limit. Both plans have every feature and a 14-day free trial.
